Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22. Various campaigns are held worldwide to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the planet. Being conscious of the environment is a way to make your lives more sustainable. One way to do this is by adopting more energy-efficient vehicles and windows and finding ways to reduce our daily carbon footprint!

The Woodlands has several Earth Day-related events for you to check out this month. Check out the list below if you want to show the planet some love this Earth Day!

Movie Night on the Lawn: Earth Day

Celebrate Earth Day by watching a movie on The Lawn! For Earth Day, enjoy Dr. Seuss' The Lorax. It's a classic that is perfect for the whole family! The event is free and weather dependent - no rain dates are scheduled. 

Earth Day at The Woodlands Children’s Museum

Come in with the kids on April 20 & 21 to enjoy some fun Earth Day activities! On April 20th, enjoy Shadow Puppet Theatre presents Earth Day, Birthday! by Maureen Wright at 11 am. Then on the 21st at 11 am, it's a Shadow Puppet Theatre double feature! Enjoy The Earth Book by Todd Parr, and It's Earth Day by Mercer Mayer. All events are included with the price of admission.

EARTH DAY - All Ages Class -Tree of Life in Spring

Bring your kids or significant other to paint a Tree of Life in this all-ages class! Children and adults are welcome to participate in Family/All Ages classes. Parents are asked to encourage their kids' creativity by letting them explore their own talents and not try to fix their artwork. Arrive 15 to 20 minutes early to get your smock and get seated. Bring your favorite beverages and snacks with you!

Earth Day Celebration at Houston Arboretum

Join the Houston Arboretum on April 22nd for Earth Day and celebrate the heroes of our planet. Enjoy free family activities and meet local heroes, such as firefighters and park rangers. In addition, there will be interactive exhibits and nature hikes. You can also learn about being a hero for the environment through the Discovery Room's displays. Texas A&M Forest Service's special guest, Smokey Bear, will also be on site. The event happens rain or shine!

Planet Earth Celebration at Space Center Houston 

The Space Center Houston will host its annual Planet Earth Celebration on April 21 & 22! This event will feature various activities, and it’s a chance for everyone to celebrate Earth's unique attributes and learn more about how we can help protect it. Learn more about the animals at Johnson Space Center, visit The Food Lab, learn about recycling electronics, and connect with area conservation organizations! The event is included with general admission.
