Clean It Up 

A well-designed and tidy garden is vital for plants and flowers. Make sure that the soil is well-prepared for them by cutting back on the dead growth of your perennials. You can also dispose of organic matter by putting it in the compost pile. 

Prepare for Flowers 

Start preparing your garden and planting your flowers in early spring. This will allow them to bloom and give you a colorful summer display. 

Ready the Greenhouse If you grow your plants inside a greenhouse, make sure that you thoroughly clean the structure. You can also use a mild disinfectant inside the glass to kill pests attacking your plants. Before you plant anything, make sure that you allow it to air out for a couple of days. 

Check Your Tools 

In addition to keeping your greenhouse clean, ensure your gardening tools are in tip-top condition. Like the greenhouse, your tools may come in contact with diseases and bugs. Ensure you thoroughly clean them to prevent them from infecting your fresh plants. 

Eliminate Pests 

To prevent pests from infecting your plants, get rid of all the hibernating pests that may be residing in your garden. Some of these include slugs, snails, and aphids. One bug you should eliminate is the white-vine weevil larvae, which will feed on your plants' roots. 

Find Seed Sources 

You can find seeds you haven't tried before at hardware stores or from friends who have planted them. Before you start any project, make sure that you know what kind of plants will be in your garden. A plan will allow you to identify the areas where your plants will grow. Write it down, so you don't forget! 

Take Your Time 

Give your plants time to adjust to the environment. Start by taking the seedlings outside and water them regularly for a couple of weeks while still in their trays. They'll adapt and be ready to grow in the garden pretty quickly!
