The holidays are approaching, and FAST! If you're expecting guests, it's time to plan for their arrival so you're not adding more stress to your plate during the hectic holiday season. Prepare your guest room for visitors this holiday season so you can enjoy the season to its fullest. 

If you've got guests coming for Thanksgiving or any of the December holidays, here are some tips to ensure their stay with you is as comfortable as possible!

Hide (or Get Rid of) Any Clutter

Many guest rooms have closets full of long-term storage, such as boxes of decorations and old kids' clothes. While it's normal for house guests to look past these items, ensure the space is well-organized and the floor is clear. Having an empty dresser can help keep folded clothes organized. At the bare minimum, clear some hanging space so guests can hang clothes. 

If your guest room doubles as a home office or a playroom, make sure that it's tidy and that there's a good lamp and a small dresser. You can also add a foldable luggage stand to the room to help keep their items organized.

Spruce It Up

You don't have to go all out with the holiday decor in the guest room, but a little holiday touch of some kind would definitely be noticed. Before guests or family members arrive, arrange a small holiday-themed arrangement on their bedside table. This will add a bit of holiday spirit to their space. 

Put Out Some Products

They might have left their full-sized beauty products behind if they're coming from a long way. Instead, put out some travel-sized products that are easy for them to use and are less expensive. These products can make your guests feel like they're staying in a luxury hotel instead of someone's spare bedroom.

Ensure the guest bedroom (or bathroom) is well stocked with all the necessary toiletries, such as a toothbrush, a bar of soap, a hair dryer, and toothpaste. These are some of the first things that get forgotten at home while traveling. 

Keep It Cozy

Some prefer to sleep in an ice-cold space, while others will freeze if their room's temperature is below a certain point. A stack of warm blankets or a circular fan in the closet can keep the room at their preferred temperature. 

Have Important Information Nearby

Keep important household details such as a Wi-Fi password, TV information (if needed), and an alarm code in a small notebook or card that can be placed on their bedside table. For an extra touch, give them a spare house key with a fun lanyard or pretty ribbon so they can come and go as they need.
